Pakomak

Pakomak is a non-profit company, founded on 3.12.2010, the activity of which is the management of packaging waste. In accordance with the new Law on Packaging Management and Packaging Waste, Pakomak from 10 January 2011 is the first company in Macedonia that owns a permit for the selection and processing of waste from packaging.

Founders of the company are 11 leading production companies in Macedonia: Pivara Skopje AD Skopje; Prilep Brewery AD Prilep; Vitaminka AD Prilep; Pelisterka DOO Skopje; Magroni DOO Skopje (Cold, Good Water); KodingDooelKavadarci (Gorskavoda); Kozuvchanka LLC Kavadarci; Vivax Dooel Skopje; BlagojGjorev AD Veles; VV Tikves AD; VV Stobi AD.

The company's goal is to build long-lasting and solid cooperation with its customers and with the state and, in accordance with the European regulations, to minimize the negative impact of packaging waste on the environment, to promote the responsible attitude of companies towards packaging waste, and thus to enable a better life for all. The company has installed infrastructure (containers) for selective collection of packaging waste throughout the territory of the Republic of Macedonia covering at least 75% of the population.

Pakomak is open to include all companies that have an obligation to manage their packaging waste and are aware of their social responsibility for providing a healthier environment. Within Pakomak, new member companies have equal treatment as well as founding companies.

Since 20 May 2011,Pakomak is the 34th national non-profit company that joins the international waste management network ProEurope (http://pro-e.org/), thus obtaining the license for the use of the symbol "Green Dot". Green Dot is a financial symbol, which indicates that a fee for handling the waste after use is paid for the packaging bearing that sign.
